ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — After splitting a pair of contests in Searcy, Arkansas, the Reddie women return home for their opener on Friday evening against Bacone College at 5:30 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.
REDDIES REPORT
- Henderson State (1-1) won its season opening game 79-70 against Missouri Southern last weekend in the Big Red Classic hosted by Harding University. Unfortunately, the Reddies' couldn't make it two for two on opening weekend, as they fell 62-59 to Emporia State after a comeback fell short.
- Sophomore Maci Mains is off to a stellar start this season and leads the team in scoring (15.5 points per game) and free throw percentage (92.3%). Mains poured in a career-high 20 points during HSU's win over Missouri Southern.
- Henderson is getting immediate contributions from freshman Ashley Farrar who is 7-for-10 from the field through two games this season. Getting 14.5 minutes off the bench, Farrar is averaging 8.5 points per game and has shown the ability to score in bunches.
- Senior Hailey Estes continues to clean the glass for the Reddies and is averaging 8.0 rebounds per game. Estes has a chance to graduate as HSU's all-time leading rebounder.
- Pink Jones has been Henderson's best distributor, averaging 5.5 assists per game. Her seven assists against Emporia State moved her second all-time in career assists at HSU.
