ARKADELPHIA, Ark - After Saturday's match against Angelo State was canceled, Henderson State returned to action on Sunday morning against Mississippi College and fell 5-2.
MC put Henderson in a hole early and swept the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead into singles. Trailing 1-0, the Reddies needed a strong start to individual play and found it when
Sydnee Parker won her third-straight match at No. 1 singles, defeating Alisa Morozova in straight-sets, 7-6, 6-2. The Reddies put one more point on the board when
Cassie Berrier defeated Jillanne Craft in straight-sets as well, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot.
The two victories in singles would not be enough, however, as the Lady Choctaws took the other four singles contests to secure the match win.
The Reddies (2-4) return to the court on Sunday, Mar. 3, when they host Northeastern State at 2 p.m.
