GAME NOTES
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Henderson State hosts Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m. with seeding implications on the line for the GAC Tournament.
REDDIES REPORT
- Henderson (17-9, 12-8) is looking to end a three-game skid after dropping its final two road games of the season last weekend to Southwestern and Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Reddies are locked into the GAC Tournament in Bartlesville next week.
- As a team, Henderson is third in the GAC in scoring offense (71.1 points per game) and is second-best in the conference in free throw percentage (74.7 percent). The Reddies lead the league in 3-point percentage defense and hold opponents to just 29.6 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
-
Pink Jones is eighth in the league in scoring (15.5 points per game) and second in assists (4.6 per game). Jones is one of three players in the GAC with 100 or more assists this season (119).
Karrington Whaley leads the conference in field goal percentage (60.4 percent shooting) and is third in the GAC in blocked shots (32).
- The Reddies have been very good this year at home and are 8-3 in contests played at the Duke Wells Center. HSU has not dropped a home game since Jan. 31 against Southern Nazarene.Â
- HSU got the best of Southeastern Oklahoma in the first matchup this season back in December when the Reddies out-lasted the Savage Storm 94-92 in Durant, Oklahoma. Henderson's 94 points in that game still stands as its highest scoring output in a GAC contest this year.
SCOUTING SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA
- Southeastern Oklahoma State comes into Thursday's game 13-11 overall and 11-9 in GAC play this season. The Savage Storm have won their last two games but had lost seven of their previous nine prior to defeating UAM and Southern Arkansas last weekend.
- SOSU was led all season by one of the premier players in the league in forward Katie Webb, who averaged 20.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this year. Unfortunately for the Savage Storm, Webb has not played since Feb. 7. Guard Kamryn Cantwell, who averages 13.5 points per game, has also been out for SOSU and has not seen game action since Jan. 17.
- The Savage Storm are one of the best shooting teams in the GAC. They lead the league in 3-point field goal percentage (38 percent shooting) and are third in field goal percentage from the floor (42.2 percent).Â
