ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Great American Conference Tournament implications are at stake Saturday when Henderson State hosts East Central at 1 p.m. on Senior Day.
REDDIES REPORT
- Henderson State got back on track Thursday night when the Reddies dispatched of Southeastern Oklahoma State 64-38. HSU's defense dominated the game and held the Savage Storm to 30.6 percent shooting on the night and a season-low 38 points.
- With the results from Thursday night, the Reddies are locked into the No. 5 seed at the GAC Tournament in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and will play at 12 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 8. If HSU defeats East Central on Saturday, it will turn around and play the Tigers again in the No. 4 vs. No. 5 game. If Henderson falls to ECU, the Reddies will face Harding in the first round.
-
Hailey Estes etched her name into Reddie lore on Thursday night when she dropped 23 points and eclipsed the 1000-point mark for her career in the third quarter. Estes is just the 14th player in program history to join the 1000-point club and is the third in the last two seasons, joining
Pink Jones and
Haleigh Henson. Estes is also currently fifth all-time in HSU history in rebounding and is on pace to break the Reddies' rebounding record next year.
- The Reddies are No. 1 in the GAC in 3-point field goal percentage defense this season and hold opponents to just 29 percent shooting from beyond the arc. No other team in the conference holds opponents under 30 percent. HSU is also third in the league in scoring offense (70.7 points per game) and free throw shooting percentage (73.7 percent).
- Saturday is Senior Day and the Reddies will honor four players at the conclusion of the game:

- The Tigers are led by one of the best players in the conference in junior Lakin Preisner, who leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists this season. Preisner is far and away the best free throw shooter in the GAC and possibly the best in the country.
