GULF SHORES, Ala. — Henderson State saved its best round of the weekend for last, as the Reddies shot 319 on Sunday to finish in ninth place at the Bama Beach Bash with a three-round score of 991.
HSU's 319 was by far its best round of the event and was an 18-stroke improvement from round two on Saturday.Â
Hanna Brauburger turned in the best score of the three-day tournament on Sunday for Henderson with a 6-over 78. Brauburger finished in a tie for 39th overall.
Both Luisa Gartmann and Taylor Loeb shot 8-over 80 in the third round. Gartmann was the Reddies' top individual finisher in a tie for 36th, while Loeb tied for 50th after her best round of the event.
Taylor Reed, who tied for 43rd, carded a 9-over 81 on Sunday, and Sydney Stiener shot a 12-over 84 — her best 18-hole score of the tournament — to place 56th.
Individual Kathleen Escobar finished in 62nd after shooting 92 in round three.
Division I Bethune Cookman won the 13-team event with a three-day score of 893.
Henderson returns to action on April 1-2, when the Reddies host the HSU Spring Invite in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
