GAC WOMEN'S TENNIS ALL-DECADE TEAM
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Henderson State's tennis program had two players earn spots on a roster of the GAC's best from last decade on Thursday, as both Annie Shannon and Sydnee Parker were named to the conference's inaugural All-Decade Team.
Shannon, a native of Lautoka, Fiji, was one of the most decorated players in both program and conference history. A four-time All-GAC First Team selection, Shannon was the 2015 GAC Freshman of the Year and the GAC's Player of the Year in 2016.
Parker, who hails from The Woodlands, Texas, earned All-GAC recognition three times in her career and was a member of the league's First Team in both 2018 and 2019. The conference's Freshman of the Year in 2016, Parker won the India Norman Award as a senior in 2019, which is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a female athlete at the university.Â
The Reddies were one of just four program's in the GAC to have two or more players make the conference's All-Decade team for women's tennis.
