ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State saw its three-match winning streak snapped by No. 14 Angelo State on Saturday, as the Belles defeated the Reddies 4-0 at the Ward Tennis Center.
The highlight of the match for HSU was at No. 1 singles, where
Mulan Kamoe captured a 6-4 first set victory over the No. 24 player in the country for ASU, Vale Gonzalez. Gonzalez found her footing however, and spurned Kamoe's upset bid with 6-3 and 6-2 wins in the final two sets.
Angelo State swept doubles play and also claimed wins at No. 2 and No. 4 singles to close out the match.
The loss drops Henderson to 5-3 this season. The Reddies play again tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. against Mississippi College.
