ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State (6-10, 2-2) will remain on the road in the second weekend of conference play as it visits the Oklahoma Baptist Lady Bison for a pair of doubleheaders scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
REDDIES REPORT
- Against Arkansas Tech, Becca Almond went the distance in the series opener, allowing five hits and two earned runs in Henderson's 5-2 victory. In the final game of the weekend, Mallory Brewer salvaged a series split with one of the best performances of her career, throwing a complete game shutout while giving up just two hits and striking out three batters.Â
- Brewer worked 13 total innings over the weekend, giving up just eight hits and one run against one of the league's most dangerous lineups.Â
- Offensively, the Reddies were led by Ashlyn Taylor and Czoey White. Taylor ended the weekend a combined 5-for-12 with two RBIs while White went 5-for-13 with two runs scored.
- Taylor and White are two of the four Henderson hitters above the .300 threshold. Kaitlyn O'Quinn is second on the team behind Taylor with a .313 average, while Abbie Moore checks in hitting .304.
- The Reddies are 12-4 against Oklahoma Baptist all-time in GAC play, but the Reddies have not visited Shawnee for a four game series since the 2016 season.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
- Oklahoma Baptist (8-8, 4-0) tore the cover off the ball last weekend on their way to a four-game sweep over Northwestern Oklahoma State. OKBU scored 42 runs in four games and did not score fewer than 10 in any game. It was also the first time the Lady Bison have swept a four-game GAC series since joining the conference in 2016.
- In the four game sweep of Northwestern, OKBU was led by the bat of Cheyenne Demaree, who was awarded GAC Player of the Week after going 9-for-12 with an astounding 11 RBIs over four games.
- A month into the season, Kaytlyn Marsh and Jadyn James are competing to be Oklahoma Baptist's best hitter. Marsh leads the team with a .460 batting average and 23 hits, but James has the lead in the power category, having smacked three home runs while hitting .431.
- Kate Long has been Oklahoma Baptist's best pitcher so far, leading the team with a 3.04 ERA in 46 innings of work. Long has struck out 49 batters and walked only 16. However, Long has been prone to serve up the long ball and has allowed seven home runs this season.Â
