OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma – Mulan Kamoe, Georjemah Row and Erica Jaggernauth represented the Henderson State women's tennis team at day one of the Division II ITA Regionals.
 
Kamoe and Row each claimed first-round singles victories for the Reddies, advancing to the Round of 32. Kamoe defeated sixth-seed Lena Milosevic out of Southern Arkansas, 6-2, 5-7, 10-7, before Row saw victory in similar fashion, defeating Nicole Donnelly of Missouri Western State, 6-2, 4-6, 10-6.
 
In last season's GAC Tournament, Kamoe and Milosevic's match was left unfinished after HSU had already secured victory with Milosevic having taken the first set, 7-5, before Kamoe found herself ahead 4-1 in the second at the time play was retired.
 
Kamoe kept the winning going for HSU, seeing Mia Sherikulova of Nebraska-Kearney in the Round of 32. After dropping the opening set, 6-2, the junior from Nasoso Nadi, Fiji, bounced back with authority, claiming the second set, 6-2, before finishing off by scoring 10 of 11 points in the super tiebreaker, 10-1.
 
The win sets up a date with 12th-seed Grace Chadick out of Central Oklahoma in the Round of 16 tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. for day two of the ITA Regionals.
 
In doubles, Kamoe got her second victory of the day over a Nebraska-Kearney opponent as her and Georjemah Row defeated the duo of Alexis Bernthal and Jazmin Zamorano in the opening round of the doubles main draw, 8-2.
 
Kamoe/Row will face Harding's Romane Britt and Grace Dodd tomorrow afternoon in the double's Round of 16.
