RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Hannah Choi was named the GAC Golfer of the Week Wednesday afternoon, the league office announced. The honor comes after the sophomore from Austin, Texas, posted a Top-5 finish at the Grace Shin Memorial in Edmond, Oklahoma, with a two-round score of 2-over 144.
 
This is the second time in her career that Choi, a member of the 2021 All-GAC Second-Team, has won this award. Her first time garnering the conference nod came on April 8 of this year when she won the Hardscrabble Invitational in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  
 
After sitting in a tie for 13th on day one with a 3-over 74 at the Grace Shin Memorial, Choi shot up the leader board on day two, carding the second best score of anyone in the field with a 1-under 70 through the second 18.
 
Henderson State has played three tournaments as a team in the 2021 fall season and in turn has won three GAC Golfer of the Week awards. Junior Gracen Blount was the recipient the two previous times.
 
Choi and company take to their home course at Hot Springs Country Club for their next tournament when teams from across the region come for the NCAA Central Region Preview Oct. 10-11.
