ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State opens Great American Conference play on the road this weekend when it travels to Bethany, Oklahoma to face Southern Nazarene in a single game at 3 p.m. on Friday and a doubleheader at 12 p.m. Saturday.
REDDIES REPORT
- Henderson split its opening weekend series with Delta State back on Jan. 28-29. The Reddies defeated the Lady Statesmen 3-2 in walk-off fashion in game one, but fell 5-3 in the second game of the doubleheader.

Abbie Moore led HSU on opening weekend and finish the two-game series with two hits, two RBIs and a home run. Moore had RBIs and hits in both contests and currently leads the team with a .400 batting average. The sophomore from North Richland Hills, Texas had the walk-off hit in the bottom of the eighth inning for Henderson in its 3-2 victory.Â

Mallory Brewer looked sharp in her first outing of the year, as she pitched 5.1 innings in the opening game and gave up just one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts. Brewer boasts a 1.31 ERA after one appearance this year.Â

Krystal Lindsey andÂ
Leann Beasley combined to pitch 4.2 innings in the series and allow just one run on one hit while striking out six batters. Lindsey finished the weekend with a 0.00 ERA in 2.0 innings of work. Beasley carries a 2.62 ERA and earned the win in game one in her first collegiate appearance.Â

Czoey White came through for the Reddies in a big way in the first contest against DSU. With Henderson trailing 1-0 in the sixth, White blasted her first home run of the year over the wall in left field to tie the game. The home run was the second of her career.
- The Reddies have had to endure a long break between contests due to Mother Nature's mishaps. Henderson has had nine home games between Feb. 12 and Feb. 24 canceled due to inclement weather and COVID-19 protocols.Â
SCOUTING SOUTHERN NAZARENE
- Southern Nazarene comes into the weekend series 2-6 on the year after participating in both the Edmond Regional Festival and the Central Oklahoma/Oklahoma Christian Festival. The Crimson Storm have won two of their last four games over Pitt State and Newman.
- Junior infielder Skye Ah Yat has been a standout for SNU this season. The native of Hawaii leads the team with a .476 batting average and 10 hits. Senior Caitlyn Curlee has eight RBI to top the club, while junior Sydney Everhart has already recorded four doubles and boasts a .348 average. The Crimson Storm are batting .280 as a team through eight games.
- Brooklyn Sparkman and Chelsea Vandiver have each started four games for SNU in the circle. Sparkman carries a 2.52 ERA and has pitched 25 innings for the Crimson Storm with three complete games. Vandiver has a 6.81 ERA in 12.1 innings of work. Together, the two pitchers have a combined record of 1-6 on the year. Opponents are batting .320 against the Storm this season.
