Reddies Return Home for Series With No. 19 ASU

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State (1-4, 0-3) returns to Dee White Field for a mid-week four-game series with the No. 19 Angelo State Rambelles, beginning with a double-header Tuesday, Mar. 2 at 2 p.m. followed by a double-header on Wednesday, Mar. 3 at 12 p.m.
 
REDDIES REPORT
Henderson is returning from its first GAC-weekend series against Southern Nazarene. The Crimson Storm combined for 36 hits in the three contests as SNU got the best of HSU in all three games.
 
Abbie Moore saw five hits over the weekend, including three in Game 1, to lead the Reddies in the series. Moore also had two of HSU's weekend-total five runs. On the season, the sophomore from North Richland Hills, Texas has a team-high seven hits and three runs.
 
Both Czoey White and Addie Jordan homered over the weekend. White leads the team with two homers and three RBIs while Jordan's blast came in her HSU-debut in only her second collegiate at-bat. The freshman also saw two RBIs in her first action as a Reddie.
 
Leading Henderson from the mound is first-year Leann Beasley as she is 1-1 on the year, having only given up nine hits and six runs in her three appearances. The Horatio, Arkansas native has five strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched on the season.  
 
SCOUTING ANGELO STATE
Sitting at 4-3 on the year, Angelo St. comes into Arkadelphia winners of three of its last four, earning the No. 19 spot in the country in the most recent Division II softball rankings. The Rambelles' three wins over UT-Permian Basin, UT-Tyler, and Texas A&M International were by a combined score of 14-3.
 
Jade Strother leads ASU on the bats as she is hitting .444 with eight hits and eight RBIs on the season, including two home runs which is tied with Madison Hernandez's two dingers. Strother is carrying a slugging percentage of .778 to lead her team through seven games.
 
In what will only be the fourth game in nearly a decade between Angelo St. and Henderson State, the Rambelles lead the all-time series 3-0 with ASU having won the last matchup a little over a year ago at Mayer Field in San Angelo, Texas, 3-0.
