RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Henderson State came into the final day of the Great American Conference Individual Championships with
Mulan Kamoe,
Erica Jaggernauth and Kamoe/
Georjemah Row playing in the semifinals of their respective flights.
Day two played out with
Erica Jaggernauth landing her spot in the Flight 4 finals match after her semifinal opponent, Southeastern's Stephi McDonald, withdrew from the contest. After Southern Arkansas' Sarah Roy defeated Lindy Carpenter of Harding, Jaggernauth and Roy met for the Flight 4 GAC Individual Championship.
Roy edged out Jaggernauth for the crown, defeating the sophomore in a single-set tiebreaker, 8-4. The Rogers, Arkansas, native finished third among all Reddies.
The Kamoe-and-Row duo took on the Lady Bisons of Harding in the Flight 1 doubles semifinals, defeating HU's top tandem of Grace Dodd and Romane Britt, 6-4.
With another Harding doubles team awaiting them in the final, the HSU pair came up just shy, 6-3, finishing as the runner-up in Flight 1 Doubles.
Henderson State will see its next action on Friday, Oct. 1 for the ITA Regionals in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The tournament will last until Sunday, Oct. 3.
