ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State is set to face the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith in the Duke Wells Center on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. This will be the fifth time the Reddies have hosted the Lions and the ninth all-time meeting.

REDDIES REPORT
Henderson got its first win of the 2022-23 season in its home opener against Champion Christian, 69-46. The win over the Tigers gave HSU its seventh consecutive home-opener victory.

At halftime, the Reddies only had a two-point lead over the Tigers, but a 26-point third period would give the team a 17-point lead heading into the final ten minutes. The defense stood tall in the last frame, only giving up nine points to Champion Christian. Henderson finished the game with 29 points off turnovers and 18 points from the bench.

Ashley Farrar and
Abbie Jiles ended the night as the leading scorers for the Reddies with 29 and 14 points, respectively. Farrar had a team-high eight rebounds, while both
Sonni Martin and Bobbi Bazzle had five. As a team, Henderson shot 30% from the field and beyond the arc while going 15-24 from the free-throw line. Â

Farrar has now scored double-digit points in all three games and has back-to-back 20-point games. The Green Forest, Ark. native is averaging 21 points a game, shooting 51% from the field and an impressive 60% from deep. Farrar leads the team with 63 points and is a perfect 11-11 from the free-throw line.Â
Arkansas-Fort Smith makes the trip to the Duke Wells Center for the first time since the 2017-18 season. Last year, the two sides met in Fort Smith, Ark. in a game HSU would win by 30 points, 91-61. In that game, current Reddies Farrar and
Gracie Raby scored 23 and 19 points, respectively.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH
UAFS started its season 0-3 with back-to-back defeats to Westminster College(Utah) and a loss to Southern Nazarene. Arkansas-Fort Smith has also played the University of Arkansas in an exhibition game. In their most recent game, the Lions fell to the Crimson Storm 69-43.

Aaliyah Prince led the way with 12 points against SNU and has scored double-digit points in all three games for the Lions. The team is shooting 36% from the field and 31% from the three-point line and is averaging 60.3 points a game. Princes leads the team with 43 points and is tied with Sinetra Jones for a team-high 17 rebounds.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR…
- In four seasons, Farrar has made 107 three-pointers and is 26 away from tying Mandy Hill(133) on the career leaderboard. Through three games, the senior has posted 12 triples and is shooting at a high rate from deep at 60%. Â
