FINAL PLAYER LEADERBOARD
DESTIN, Florida – In a 17-team field that consisted of four Top-25 teams in the current Women's Golf Coaches Association poll - two of which are among the Top-5 – Henderson State placed second at the Emerald Coast Classic with a 21-over 589 two-round total.
No. 4 Nova Southeastern took first while HSU tied with No. 5 Anderson in tournament play. With thunderstorms suspending the final round of play, a scorecard playoff determined the Reddies Runners-Up. Currently-unranked Henderson found itself five strokes ahead of No. 12 Lee University and 10 strokes ahead of No. 24 Central Missouri.
Daphney Tilton logged her second Top-10 finish of the 2021-22 season, pacing all HSU golfers this weekend with a 5-over 147 for a tie at eighth place. For her collegiate career, the third-year sophomore has seen five Top-10 finishes.
Karen Lee and
Gracen Blount both logged tenth-place finishes with a 6-over 148. Lee registered the fourth best second round of anyone in the field with a 1-under 70 on the second 18. The Top-10 finish marked Lee's best tournament showing of this season while it was Blount's sixth of the 2021-22 year.
Hannah Choi and
Allie Bianchi rounded out the Henderson golfers with a 9-over 151 (T20) and 10-over 152 (T29), respectively.
The Henderson St. women's golf team will have a week off before heading south to the Lonestar State to play in the King Alfred Spring Invitational March 28-29 in Tyler, Texas, hosted by the University of Texas at Tyler.
