ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas – In the first Battle of the Ravine of the season, Henderson State defeated the Ouachita Baptist Tigers at the Ward Tennis Center in a non-conference match, 5-2. The victory extended HSU's winning streak over OBU to a dominant 15 consecutive matches.
 
Mulan Kamoe, Erica Jaggernauth, Vinda Teally and Danna Nunez each went 2-0 on the day as HSU swept all three doubles matches before picking up four singles wins on the afternoon.
 
All three doubles matches finished with a 6-2 final, including the tandem of Teally and Nunez for just their second win of the season as partners, giving HSU the early 1-0 lead on the match. That lead was quickly extended to 4-0, clinching the match, thanks to Kamoe, Jaggernauth and Nunez posting straight-set victories.
 
Building on the already-decided match, Teally took OBU's Shelly Davilus the distance with both competitors splitting the first two sets. After Teally took her set-nod virtue of a tiebreaker, a 10-set super tiebreaker was left to decide the match. Both players needed that and then some as Teally outlasted Davilus 11-9, picking up the fifth and final point for Henderson.  
 
Henderson State (4-6) will face OBU once more for the season finale at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center. Before then, the Reddies will begin conference play when they travel to Searcy, Arkansas, to take on No. 48 Harding Tuesday, April 5 at 2 p.m.
