ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State ended its 2022 spring season at the hands of the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns, falling Friday afternoon, 7-0. The Reddies finish the year at 5-10 and 1-4 in conference.
Â
No. 44
Mulan Kamoe and
Georjemah Row's final doubles match of the regular season was a classic, with each duo breaking the other's serve at just the right time to keep the match up in the air. With play at 40-40 and Tech up 6-5, a questionable line call from the official awarded the ATU's top duo the nod, 7-5.
Â
The tandem of Kamoe/Row defeated every GAC team's top doubles team this season, downing the Golden Suns' best duo in the non-conference match the two teams played earlier this season. The Reddies tandem finishes the regular season with an 11-4 record, all at the No. 1 line.
Â
Kamoe saw another thrilling end in her singles play, finishing the year at 9-6 from the top spot after falling to Tech's Lea Grinberg, 5-7, 7-5, 10-7. Kamoe defeated Grinberg back in the non-conference match earlier this year, 6-2, 6-2.
Â
Up next for Henderson St. will be the GAC Tournament in Bentonville, Arkansas, April 28-30. The Reddies will come into postseason play as the five seed. Â
