REDDIES REPORT
Freshman
Madison Treutlein is three games away from claiming the team-high batting average title for the season as she is currently hitting .358, which is currently 14th best among the conference leaders. Treutlein has recorded 39 hits this season, third behind
Abbie Moore (40) and Burch (42), despite having played seven less games than Moore and nine less than Burch.
Â
Moore and
Brooke Johnson will finish the season as the two biggest bats for the Reddies, with Moore being tied for seventh in the league with nine home runs on year, slugging a team-high .496. In her first season at HSU, Johnson has posted 10 doubles this season, which is Top-10 in the conference.
Â
Heading into the final series of the regular season, Henderson's hopes for a GAC Championship bid is still alive. At 9-21 in conference and currently in tenth place, the Reddies are one game back of ninth-place East Central and two and half back of eighth-place Arkansas-Monticello, meaning they will need to sweep OKBU this weekend while having both ECU and UAM drop two games.
Â
Since 2016, HSU leads the series with the Bison, 14-9. The last time these two teams played in Shawnee, Henderson came away victorious in the final game of the weekend series, 12-6. Moore and
Monica Monreal lead the Reddies at the plate that day, going 2-for-5 and 2-for-3, respectively.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
Oklahoma Baptist has already clinched a spot in next week's 2022 GAC Softball Championships in Bentonville, Arkansas. Thanks to winning nine of their last 12 contests, the Bison are currently in sixth place and are two games back of Southeastern for fifth place, with OKBU holding the tiebreaker.
Â
Sophomore outfielder Reagan Ford leads her squad with a .358 batting average, while freshman catcher Samantha Campos (.311) paces the clubhouse with 47 hits, including 12 doubles. The Bison are sixth among the 12-team league in several major offensive categories, including hits (346) and RBIs (194).
Â
Oklahoma Baptist boasts two of the better pitchers in the conference in Kayleigh Jones and Aspen Younce. Jones set the GAC's single-season strikeout record earlier this season as she is now sitting at 277 strikeouts to 64 walks through 189.1 innings pitched. Younce has 140 strikeouts in 125.2 innings of work. Both arms are sporting ERAs at or below 3.51.
