RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas - For the second consecutive season, Allie Bianchi of Henderson State women's golf has been named the Great American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year. Bianchi is just the second two-time Female Scholar Athlete of the Year in conference history and the first ever multi-year winner for the Reddies.

Bianchi sat down with Henderson State Director of Athletic Communications Courtlin Haygarth over Zoom to discuss her journey to becoming HSU's first two-time Scholar Athlete of the Year.



In the classroom, Bianchi held a 4.00 GPA in finance for the second year in a row, leading to her second GAC Elite Scholar Athlete award. The Allen, Texas, native also found herself on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team for the second-straight year and finished as a finalist for the NCAA Elite 90 Award at this past season's National Championships in Gainesville, Georgia.

On the course, she earned GAC First-Team and All-Tournament honors as she helped the Reddies repeat as conference champions. At the NCAA Division II Regionals, she placed fourth as Henderson State won the team championship by 24 shots and qualified for the National Championships for just the second time in program history. Bianchi herself made it back-to-back trips to Nationals after qualifying as an individual in 2021.

Bianchi returns to Henderson State for the 2022-23 season in hopes to make it three consecutive trips to Nationals for the women's golf program, joining veterans Gracen Blount and Daphney Tilton in what will be head coach Colton Cowan's second year at the helm.
