FARMINGTON, Pa. - After a full 18 holes plus an additional six holes before darkness ended the second round early, No. 6 Henderson State sits in second at the nine-team, 45-person Nemacolin Intercollegiate with a score of 15-over.
Featuring a field that includes six WGCA Top-25 teams, No. 8 Indianapolis is currently in first at 4-over while tournament host No. 5 Findlay follows behind HSU at 19-over, followed by No. 1 Dallas Baptist (29-over) and No. 24 Missouri-St. Louis (31-over).
Henderson's
Allie Bianchi is continuing with her strong play to open the 2023-24 season as she closes day one tied for first at 2-under. Bianchi shot a field-best 2-under 70 in round one and is sitting even-par through two holes into the second round.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk and
Daphney Tilton are both tied for 10th at 4-over. Tilton shot a 4-over 76 in the first round whereas Boonbumroongsuk carded a 5-over 77, but the Bangkok, Thailand, native opened round two with a birdie to crack the Top-10 after opening day.
Felisa Sajulga is tied for 19th at 9-over while
Kayla Perera, in her first tournament as a member of the Reddie five-bag, is tied for 34th. Perera's first-round debut showed her tallying the second most birdies of any HSU golfer through the first round with four.
No. 6 Henderson St. will revisit Mystic Rock Golf Course early tomorrow morning to conclude round two before playing the third and final round.
