DAY ONE PLAYER LEADERBOARD
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - After 36 holes of play on day one of the Battle for the Belt from Hot Springs Country Club, the No. 6 Henderson State women's golf team leads the eight-team field with a two-round score of 13-over 589. After carding an 8-over 296 on first 18 holes, HSU came back with the best second round of any team with a 5-over 293.
GAC-foe Southwestern Oklahoma State is in second at 19-over 595, followed by UT-Tyler (+22), Drury (+51) and Arkansas-Monticello (+52) to round out the top five.
After finishing in a tie for first before falling in a playoff in HSU's last tournament,
Allie Bianchi recorded the only sub-par round of anyone in the field with her 1-under 71 in the second round to sit in a tie for second with 18 holes remaining with a two-round score of 2-over 146. Bianchi is just one stroke behind first-place Martha Laremark.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk was the most consistent performer of the Reddie golfers on the day, carding a pair of 1-over 73s to match Bianchi in a tie for second. After shooting 2-over 38 on the front nine of her second round, Boonbumroongsuk went 1-under 35 to reach her second 73 of the day.  Â
Felisa Sajulga, after shooting a 6-over 78 in the first round, improved 10 spots on the overall leaderboard with a second-round even-par 72 to end day one at 6-over 150. Similar to Boonbumroongsuk, Sajulga went 2-under 34 on her final back nine to finish even.
Daphney Tilton finished in a tie for eighth after rounds of 1-over 73 and 5-over 77 while
Emmie Eriksson is tied for 22nd with a 36-hole score of 13-over 157.
Kayla Perera, who was competing in her first event as a Reddie, carded rounds of 9-over 81 before a 2-over 74 second round as an individual, moving up 12 spots for a tie at 15th.
The third and final round will begin from Hot Springs Country Club tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. as No. 6 Henderson State looks to maintain its six-stroke lead for its first tournament win of the 2023 fall season.
