ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State fell to Southern Arkansas in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon from the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center, 6-1. Now 1-1 on the season, HSU will head to Arkansas-Fort Smith for an intra-state match Thursday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m.
 
The Reddies just missed out on the earning the doubles point after the tandem of Marianna Murcia and Tirzah Bailey won at No. 3, 6-4. Mulan Kamoe and Haarini Balakrishnan were edged out at No. 1, 7-5, to give SAU the doubles nod.
 
In singles, the reigning Flight 4 GAC Individual Champion Jenna Kate Bohnert was the lone Reddie to see victory, defeating Southern Arkansas' Kalley Smith in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Three of Bohnert's teammates went the distance before falling in three sets.
 
Henderson St. will see the Muleriders again in Magnolia Tuesday, April 11 in a conference match. League play will begin Saturday, April 1 with a special April Fool's Day edition of the Battle of the Ravine.
