HSU in Seventh Place After Two Rounds at the Houston Classic

HOUSTON – No. 6 Henderson State concludes day one of the Houston Classic in seventh place with a score of 20-over 596. The Reddies accumulated 22 birdies across 36 holes and tallied one eagle. 
 
Just ahead of Henderson on the team leaderboard is Southern Arkansas, who has a three-stroke advantage over the Reddies. Other notable teams taking part in the Houston Classic include No. 10 Oklahoma Christian, No. 16 Missouri-St. Louis and hosts Southern Nazarene. 

Four-time GAC Player of the Week Nathan Cossement recorded four birdies across two rounds and finished with the best individual score for the Reddies, shooting 3-over par. The Wavre, Belgium native is tied in 20th place in the player leaderboards. 
 
Just behind Cossment, Brady Perkins finished two rounds of play 4-over par and is tied for 23rd place in the player rankings. Perkins recorded eight birdies over 36 holes, with five coming in the second round. Miller Harris shot five over for the day and had five birdies in two rounds of play.
 
Rounding out the team, Alex Hadden ended the day 8-over par, while Jacob Knowlton shot 18 over across the two rounds. Hadden had four birdies and recorded the team's only eagle.  
 
Henderson will look to continue to climb the leaderboard tomorrow as they wrap up Houston Classic.
