Reddies Finish Ninth at Skip Wagnon Invitational

EDMOND, Okla. – Reddie men's golf finished ninth at their penultimate fall tournament, the Skip Wagnon Invitational, hosted at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond. HSU finished the three-round event with a team total of 849, 9 strokes over par and 43 strokes behind first-place St. Mary's (TX).

Colin Purifoy led the way for the Reddies over the two-day event; his tournament was highlighted with an impressive eight-under par 62 in Monday's second round. The Hope, Arkansas native book ended the low score with rounds of 75 and 71. The second round was marked with seven birdies and an eagle on the par-four fifth hole. Purifoy finished in 16th place individually to lead Henderson.

Alex Cuadrado provided stability for the Reddies with rounds of 69, 67, and 73 to finish in 18th place. His one-under par 69 in Monday's opening round was best on the team, and his second round 67, like Purifoy's, featured an eagle on a par-four, this one on the seventh hole.

Jacob Knowlton remained around even-par for the entire tournament, turning in scores of 72, 69, and 73. The senior from Cabot found his rhythm in Monday's second round, carding four birdies to overcome three bogeys.

Brode Horton did his best work Monday with rounds of 71 and 73 before turning in a 75 in Tuesday's second round. Horton turned in a colorful card on the back nine, with three birdies and three birdies in Kickingbird's closing nine holes.

Cooper Williams rounded out the scoring for the Reddies with rounds of 75, 73, and 74. The senior from Crossett made a total of five birdies for the tournament.

The Reddies will be back on the road for their final match of the fall season on October 27th and 28th, as they head to Rockwall, Texas for the DBU Classic, hosted at the Rockwall Athletic Club.
