ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Henderson State finished off its 2022-23 regular season in style with a 7-0 victory over Fort Hays State from Bettye Wallace Tennis Center Saturday afternoon. The win marked HSU's third sweep of the season and first since Friday, Mar. 10.

The Reddies not drop a single match in the contest. After sweeping doubles competition, Henderson won all six singles matches in straight sets, including a pair of 6-0, 6-0 triumphs.

Marianna Murcia and Tirzah started off doubles action with a 6-0 win at No. 3 over FHSU's Kylie Aufdengarten and Grace Unruh. Mulan Kamoe and Kristina Kozlova followed that with a 6-3 win at No. 1 before Jenna Kate Bohnert and Haarini Balakrishnan took the match at the No. 2 line for good measure, 6-4.

Bohnert and Balakrishnan finished their afternoons early as the doubles partners took to their respective singles matches without giving up a single game, 6-0, 6-0. Marianna Murcia clinched the match for Henderson with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3.

With three points still on the table, Kamoe, Kristina Kozlova and Danna Nunez claimed those with straight-set wins of their own for the 7-0 drubbing.

Henderson St. (12-6, 2-3 GAC) finishes the 2022-23 season with its most wins since joining the GAC in 2012. Next up for the Reddies is the GAC Tournament in Bentonville, Arkansas, Apr. 20-22 where HSU will be either the four seed or five seed, depending on the finish of the Southeastern Oklahoma State versus Arkansas Tech match today.
