ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - For the second time this season, Henderson State women's tennis defeated Ouachita Baptist. Monday's victory came on OUA's side of the highway as the Reddies took it, 6-1, improving to 1-0 in Great American Conference play.

The win marked Henderson's (10-3, 1-0 GAC) seventh consecutive victory as HSU has not lost in a month and a half. The Reddies swept doubles play before taking five of six singles matches to claim the five-point Battle of the Ravine victory.

Mulan Kamoe and Kristina Kozlova started things out with a 6-2 win at No. 1, followed by Haarini Balakrishnan and Jenna Kate Bohnert at No. 2 and then Marianna Murcia and Tirzah Bailey coming in as scheduled at No. 3 to complete the sweep.

Bohnert handed HSU its second point of the match with her win at No. 4 singles over Ouachita Baptist's Olivia Gaston, 6-0, 6-2. Seconds later, doubles teammate Balakrishnan followed suit with her own 6-0, 6-2 victory to leave the Reddies one point shy of clinching the match.

The Tigers were able to muster one point at the No. 6 line before Kozlova seized the fourth point with a straight-set, 7-5, 6-2 win at the No. 2 spot. With the match already in hand, Murcia and Kamoe went the distance in their respective matches before toughing out a third-set, 10-point super tiebreaker.

Henderson St. will come back over the street to Bettye Wallace Tennis Center when the Harding Lady Bisons come to Arkadelphia for HSU's second conference match of the season tomorrow at 2 p.m.
