BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - The No. 6 Henderson State women's golf team, in its second tournament of the 2023 fall season, finished as Runners-Up at the Central Region Preview with a 36-hole score of 4-over 580. It is the first time HSU has not won this event since the 2020-21 season.
Central Missouri won the event thanks to a field-best 1-over 289 in the final round to post a winning score of 3-over 579. Henderson beat third-place Northeastern State by 20 strokes.
Allie Bianchi finished the 36 holes tied for first with Central Missouri's Mia Rallo at 2-under 142 after delivering a final-round 1-over 73. After two playoff holes, Rallo edged out Bianchi, giving Bianchi second place.
Newcomer
Felisa Sajulga, in her second tournament as a Reddie, paced HSU on the final round with a 1-under 71 to finish in a tie for sixth with a 36-hole score of 1-over 145. Sajulga saw three birdies to just two bogeys in her final 18 holes.
Daphney Tilton and
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk joined Sajulga and Bianchi in the top twelve as both players placed in a tie for eleventh with 4-over 148s.
Emmie Eriksson rounded out the red-and-gray golfers, delivering her best competitive round since joining the program at the beginning of the 2022-23 season, carding a 1-over 73 as she matched Sajulga with a round-high three birdies among the HSU competitors today. Eriksson finished her two rounds at 7-over 151 (T20).
No. 6 Henderson State's next tournament will be at its home course in Hot Springs, Arkansas at Hot Springs Country Club for the annual Battle for the Belt Oct. 8-9.
