Reddies Hit the Road to Take on Northeastern State

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  -  Henderson State's women's basketball team will travel to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to take on Northeastern State on Wednesday, November 20. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. at the NSU Event Center.

The Reddies will look to build off of an 83-73 victory in their home opener against Delta State last week. HSU shot nearly 48 percent from three-point range as a team in the win.

Jadah Pickens enters Wednesday's contest as the reigning GAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week. She earned the honor in unanimous fashion after posting 30 points versus DSU: the second 30-point outing of her career. Pickens is currently second in the Great American Conference with an average of 18.3 points per game.

Sam Basson recorded a career-high four steals against the Lady Statesmen. She also tied her personal record for rebounds in a single game with eight (seven of which were defensive).

Brynlee Huggins scored a career-best 22 points in last week's victory. The Pangburn, Arkansas, native made five of her 10 three-point attempts and all three of her free throws.

Bobbi Bazzle seeks to record double-digit rebounds for a third straight game. After three games, she is tied for the conference lead with 26 boards (8.7 per game).

Northeastern State also enters this week's game on the heels of a win. The RiverHawks defeated Haskell 77-63 in their home opener at the NSU Event Center. Prior to that victory, NSU dropped three straight games to Great American Conference opponents: Southwestern Oklahoma State, Oklahoma Baptist, and Southeastern Oklahoma State. Henderson State won its last meeting with Northeastern State by a score of 69-56.

Alex Hill leads the RiverHawks with 12.8 points per game. She has scored eight or more points in each of her team's four contests this season. Originally from Harrison, Arkansas, she also paces NSU with 25 rebounds.

Forward Grace Abercrombie has been Northeastern State's top offensive distributor thus far with 11 total assists. Fellow forward Deyanna Douglas has recorded a team-best five blocks, including four in the RiverHawks' game against Southeastern Oklahoma State alone.
