WBB GAME NOTES VS. HARDING - DECEMBER 14, 2024
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. Â - Â After starting out conference play with a three-game road stretch, Henderson State returns to the Duke Wells Center to host its GAC home opener against Harding. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14.
REDDIES NOTES
Henderson State returns to the Duke Wells Center on the heels of its first conference win at Arkansas Tech. The Reddies are 8-6 at home against Harding in the Great American Conference era (since 2011-12).
Natalie Cardenas recorded a career-high 27 points on a .529 field goal percentage versus the Golden Suns.
Makenna Winans is one of only four players in the GAC averaging eight or more rebounds per game this season (8.2). She has posted a dozen or more boards in two of her last three games.
Bobbi Bazzle tied her season high with six offensive rebounds in the victory at ATU. She is second in the league with 3.4 offensive boards per game.
With 16 points in Thursday's game,
Brynlee Huggins has tallied double-digit point totals in seven of HSU's nine games thus far. She is tied for the conference lead with 24 three-pointers made.
SCOUTING HARDING
Harding looks to maintain its perfect record (3-0) in Great American Conference play to start the 2024-25 campaign. The Bisons have won four straight contests versus the Reddies, including a 92-84 victory at the Duke Wells Center on March 2 earlier this year.
Sage Hawley is one the league's top three scorers (19.0 points per game) and rebounders (8.9 boards per game). Last year, Hawley received the GAC Player of the Year Award in addition to First Team All-Region and Second Team All-American honors from D2CCA.
Rory Geer tops this year's Harding squad with nine rebounds per game. She is also one of four Bison players averaging double-digits in scoring this season (12.6 points per game), joining Hawley, Audrey Isbell, and Josie Williams.
Williams paces the Bisons at just under three assists per game (2.9.) She led Harding with 19 points in the team's last win over the Reddies.
Harding's offense is first in the GAC with 72.6 points scored per game.
