2024-25 WBB GAME NOTES: AT SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE (DECEMBER 5, 2024)
ARKADELPHA, Ark. Â - Â The 2024 Great American Conference Champion Henderson State Reddies prepare to begin their title defense with Thursday's conference opener at Southeastern Oklahoma State. Tip-off at Bloomer Sullivan Arena in Durant, Oklahoma, is slated for 5:30 p.m. on December 5.
REDDIES NOTES
Henderson State enters conference play as the reigning GAC Tournament Champion. The Reddies have won their last six meetings with the Savage Storm, including three victories at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
Jadah Pickens enters conference play with one of the league's top three scoring averages (18.3 points per game). She has scored at least 10 points in each of HSU's six games. The former Conway Wampus Cat hit a buzzer beater to force overtime in the Reddies' last non-conference game against Rogers State.
Brynlee Huggins is tied for the 10th-best scoring average in the GAC (14.5 points per game). Her 16 three-point makes put her in a tie for first on the conference leaderboard.
Bobbi Bazzle continues to pace the league with 3.8 offensive rebounds per game.
Klowie Pike became one of only two GAC players to record seven or more steals in a single game during last week's comeback win at Mississippi College.
Marlee Raby made the first two starts of her collegiate career last week. In the latter of those two starts, the freshman posted 16 points while shooting .500 from the field.
SCOUTING SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
Southeastern Oklahoma State looks to earn its first victory against Henderson State since the 2020 GAC Tournament's semifinal round: an 87-84 overtime win that paved the way for a conference title. The Savage Storm has hosted only one home game thus far in the 2024-25 season, which was a 64-50 victory over Northeastern State on November 13.
Caitlin Kobiske boasts the GAC's second-highest scoring average at 19.2 points per game. The Keller, Texas, native also leads the Savage Storm with six rebounds per game.
Guard Stevie Stinchcomb paces Southeastern's squad at 2.2 assists per game. With a team-best 1.7 steals per game, the junior guard serves as a threat on both ends of the court.
