RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – After helping Henderson State pick up a series win against Delta State over the weekend,
Miyah Jackson is named GAC Softball Player of the Week for the first time this season, the league announced Monday.
The Mansfield, Texas native complied a .400 batting average and 1.600 slugging percentage across the two games on 2-for-5 hitting at the plate with four RBIs and three runs scored. In HSU's 8-0 win in the opening contest of the series, Jackson went 1-2 at the plate with a solo shot in the bottom of the third and also worked two walks.
The junior designated player followed that up, going 1-for-3 at the plate in the second game against DSU with the lone hit leaving the ballpark on a three-run home run to help the Reddies to a 5-3 victory. Jackson is on an eight-game hit streak with a batting average of .333 and leads the team with three doubles, three home runs and eight runs driven in.
Henderson State (3-5) resumes action from Dee White Field on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with a doubleheader against Texas Woman's starting at 3 p.m.
