HOUSTON, Texas - After entering the final round of the Southern Invitational in second place, No. 14 Henderson State women's golf stayed put, shooting a third-round 7-over 295 to finish with a 54-hole score of 13-over 877.
No. 3 Dallas Baptist posted a 10-under 278 to secure the victory while the Reddies outpaced third-place No. 11 West Texas A&M at 22-over 886, fourth-place No. 18 Midwestern State at 33-over 897 and in-region foe Rogers State at 43-over 907.
Allie Bianchi led the HSU five-bag after carding a 2-under 214 to nab a fourth-place finish. Tuesday marks Bianchi's fourth consecutive Top-10 finish and third Top-5 finish in her last four tournaments dating back to last semester.
Felisa Sajulga (T8) and
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk (T10) stood within one stroke of the other at 4-over 220 and 5-over 221, respectively, for the Top-10 finishes. Boonbumroongsuk saw the most movement on the individual leaderboard on the final day of any Reddie, climbing 18 spots with a final-round score of 3-under 69.
Daphney Tilton finished in a tie for 13th at 6-over 222 before
Kayla Perera rounded out the Reddies with a 25-over 241 for a spot at 71st.
No. 14 Henderson State will return to the Lone Star State next week when it takes on the Rattler Invitational hosted by St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas Feb. 26-27.
