ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Henderson State hits the road for the first time this season to open Great American Conference action at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Feb. 23-24. The Reddies will play a single game on Friday at 4:30 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Saturday starting at noon.
Due to NWOSU's field conditions, the three-game series will be played in Piedmont, Okla. at the Piedmont High School softball facility.Â

REDDIES REPORT
HSU went 3-1 last week after splitting a midweek series with Texas Woman's and sweeping Texas A&M-Texarkana on Sunday. HSU recorded 37 hits over the four games, with 26 coming in the doubleheader against TAMUT. The Reddies' three wins bring them to 6-6 on the year heading into their first conference series.
Lily Warren notched another big week at the plate with eight hits in 13 at-bats, recording two hits in each contest. The freshman from New Braunfels, Texas, has a team-high 17 hits and ranks third in the GAC in batting average, hitting .531 in 32 at-bats. Warren also leads the league in stolen bags with 11 on the year and has yet to be caught stealing.
Through 12 games, Henderson is batting a league-high .333 and has recorded the third-most hits with 105.
Macy Hoskins and
Miyah Jackson are second in hits for the red-and-grey with 11 notches each, with Hoskins batting .379 and Jackson hitting .333. The Reddies have six players hitting .350 or better and four batting over .400 heading into the first conference series.
Brooke Johnson has been the standout arm in the Reddies bullpen in three starts with a team-low 0.64 ERA. Johnson leads HSU with 15 strikeouts and has allowed just one run and seven hits in 14.0 innings, as batters are hitting .147 against the right-hander. The Rockwall, Texas native also provides a strong bat in the lineup with six RBIs on seven hits and a home run.
Henderson State opens conference play with Northwestern Oklahoma State for the second time in two seasons. Last year, HSU took 2-of-1 from the Lady Rangers in the three-game series at Dee White Field to start GAC action. The Reddies lead the head-to-head record 23-10, but are looking for their first road series win against the Lady Rangers since 2016. Â
SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE
Northwestern Oklahoma State returns from Colorado 6-4 after winning four out of six games in the Centinela State. The Lady Rangers concluded their trip with a series split against Colorado at Colorado Springs, where they fell in the first game 6-4 but took the second contest 10-1.
The Lady Rangers are led by fifth-year pitcher Hannah Howell in the circle, who is 4-0 in six appearances. Howell leads the team with 14 strikeouts in 27.1 innings of work and has a team-low 2.05 ERA with batters hitting .279 against the Anna, Texas native. Northwestern's pitching staff has a combined 3.54 ERA and has given up 69 hits and 33 runs through ten games.
At the plate, Northwestern has two players batting over .400, led by Rachel Sherwood, who has 13 hits, including three doubles, two triples, and a home run on a .448 batting average. Sherwood has driven in the most runs of anyone for NWOSU with eight runs driven in and leads the team with a .793 slugging percentage. Alongside Sherwood, Avery Clark has reached double-figure hits this season with 14 knocks and is batting .424 in 33 plate appearances.Â
