SAN ANTONIO, Texas - In their second tournament of the 2024 spring season, No. 12 Henderson State women's golf finished third out of 11 teams with a 54-hole score of 33-over 897.
No. 11 West Texas A&M won the event won the event at 6-over 870 while tournament host No. 9 St. Mary's edged out the Reddies late in the final round for a Runner-Up score of 32-over 896.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk paced the Henderson five-bag after carding a 5-over 221 across the three rounds. After sitting at 4-over 148 following the first day, Boonbumroongsuk shot a team-best 1-over 73 on the final 18 to finish fifth in the 66-player field.
Reigning GAC Golfer of the Week
Allie Bianchi finished just behind Boonbumroongsuk at 6-over for a tie at sixth. Bianchi played even-par golf across 16 holes, carding two birdies and two bogeys to 12 pars before a double and triple bogey pushed her just outside the Top-5.
Daphney Tilton claimed her first Top-10 finish of the semester and her third in the past four events with an 8-over 224. An eagle on the 422-yard Par 5 7th plus another two birdies brought her third-round score to 3-over 75.
Felisa Sajulga (T20) and
Emmie Eriksson (T36) filled out the HSU golfers with final scorecards of 14-over 230 and 20-over 236, respectively.
No. 12 Henderson State will return to Arkadelphia before playing its next tournament in the Natural State at the Women's Arkansas Collegiate hosted by Southern Arkansas in El Dorado Mar. 11-12.
