ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Tennis' three-match winning streak was snapped Monday afternoon as Henderson State was edged out by No. 25 Northwest Missouri State, 4-2.

The Bearcats were the third ITA Top-30 team HSU has faced so far this season, with a fourth coming up tomorrow against No. 29 Missouri Western State at 11 a.m. from the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center.

Henderson's No. 1 doubles tandem Mulan Kamoe and Kristina Kozlova were deadlocked with NWMSU's top duo, 4-4, when the doubles point was clinched.

Moving to singles, Angela Georgieva and Jenna Kate Bohnert were the two Reddies to claim singles victories, both of which came in straight sets. Georgieva took the win at the No. 3 line after Bohnert claimed the 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 4.

With the match score reading 3-2 in favor of the Bearcats, Kamoe fell in a highly contested second-set tiebreaker at the top spot, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), to give Northwest Missouri the match. Kozlova was winning in her singles match before play was stopped, 4-6, 7-5, 3-2.

Henderson St. (7-4) will remain in Arkadelphia when No. 29 Missouri Southern State comes to the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center Tuesday, Mar. 12 at 11 a.m.
