No. 13 Women’s Golf Wins the Arkansas Collegiate

EL DORADO, Ark. - The No. 13 Henderson State women's golf team claims its first event win of the spring semester, taking first place at the Arkansas Collegiate. The Reddies carded 26-over 314 on the second day to finish the tournament 61-over 637.

HSU finished four strokes ahead of Harding, who took second place with a 65-over 641, while Christian Brothers finished third at +100. Trailing CBU by two strokes was Union at +102, followed by Southern Arkansas (+107) in fifth, Arkansas-Monticello (+121) sixth and Southeastern Oklahoma State (+130) in seventh.

Allie Bianchi jumped four spots on the player leaderboard from the first day after seeing a 4-over 76 in the second round with a pair of birdies on the back nine. Bianchi climbed up to claim a third-place finish with a final event score of 13-over 157.

Jinna Boonbumroongsuk followed Bianchi with a fourth-place finish after carding a 14-over 158 for the tournament. Boonbumroongsuk moved up three spots with a second-round score of 5-over 77 and birdied two of her last three holes.

Individual Kayla Perera saw the biggest change on the player leaderboard, rising 12 spots to conclude her first event with Henderson tied for sixth with a 17-over 161. The Colomba, Sri Lanka native pared 14 of the 18 holes on her way to a 4-over 76 second round.

Joining Perera in a tie for sixth place, Felisa Sajulga and Emmie Eriksson also posted a 17-over 161 score. Sajulga saw a 7-over 79 in the second round with three birdies, while Eriksson shot 10-over 82 the second time through the Par 72 course. Daphney Tilton concluded the second day 14-over 86 and placed tied for 16th with a final score of 24-over 168.

No. 13 HSU is back in action from the Sunshine State next week, competing in the Buccaneer Invitational, hosted by Barry on Mar. 18-19.
