ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ashley Farrar becomes just the fourth player for Henderson State to be named to the All-Regional team after earning D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team honors. Farrar is the first player to earn these honors since Hall of Honor inductee Aungelique Sldege was named Second Team All-Central Region in 2015.
 
Five players from the Great American Conference made the All-Regional Team, including Northwestern Oklahoma State's Faith Simpson, who was named Player of the Year in the Central Region. Harding's Sage Hawley and Southern Nazarene's Lauryn Reither joined Farrar on the second team.
 
Along with being named Second Team All-Central Regional, Farrar also earned First Team All-GAC honors, was named the GAC Tournament MVP, and received GAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete honors this season.
 
The Green Forest, Ark. native helped HSU to its first GAC Tournament title in program history and a 20-win season, putting up a team-high and GAC fourth-best 15.9 points per game. Farrar has recorded 27 double-figure point games this year, including eight 20-point contests. The high-scoring output by the GAC Tournament MVP this season saw her become HSU's all-time leading scorer, currently sitting at 1871 career points.
 
Farrar is shooting 42.2 percent (145-344) from the field and 37.8 percent from the three-point line this year. The First Team All-GAC player is second on the team with 56 triples and helps lead the best three-point shooting team in the GAC, which is shooting 35.6 percent a clip. The Green Forest High School product is converting 81.7 percent from the foul line and averaging 4.7 rebounds per game this year.  

HSU (20-11, 13-9) heads to Bethany, Okla., to face No. 10 Southern Nazarene in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional Tournament on Friday at 5 p.m.
