PENSACOLA, Fla. - Henderson State took on No. 15 West Florida from the Sunshine State Wednesday afternoon, taking two singles matches from the Argonauts before eventually falling, 5-2.

Marianna Murcia and Haarini Balakrishnan claimed wins for HSU on the afternoon. Murcia defeated West Florida's Jenna Svatos in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.

Balakrishnan escaped Luiz Daud after three sets despite dropping the opening stanza, 4-6, 6-2, 10-4.

Both Murcia, who is 7-5 on the year and Balakrishan, who is 7-6, are sporting three-match win streaks in singles play.

Henderson State (9-6) will have a couple weeks off before returning to the court for GAC play when the Reddies welcome No. 12 Southern Arkansas to the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center Saturday, Apr. 6 at 11 a.m.
