FORT SMITH, Ark. - After yesterday's 36 holes were rained out,
Allie Bianchi of No. 13 Henderson State carded a 1-over 71 in the lone round of the Hardscrabble Invitational to finish as the Co-Champion among the 76-player field.
As a team, the Reddies finished in third after 18 holes with a 41-over 321. Harding won the 13-team event at 33-over 313, followed by No. 17 Midwestern State at 38-over 318.
Bianchi won her third tournament of the 2023-24 campaign, posting her third consecutive Top-5 finish. The five-time GAC Golfer of the Week has placed Top-10 in eight of nine tournaments HSU has participated in this season.
After starting out 2-over through her first three holes, the Allen, Texas, native played her final 15 holes at 1-under, staying bogey-free from that point on with one birdie and 14 pars.
Lily Nelson, playing in her first tournament of the season, opened her inaugural round of competitive golf with a 7-over 77 to finish in a tie for fifth as an individual. Nelson closed the front nine at 1-over before dropping six strokes along the back half.
Daphney Tilton (T24) finished second among HSU's five-bag with an 11-over 81, followed by
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk (T30)Â at 13-over 83.
Felisa Sajulga (T45) and
Kayla Perera (T55) rounded out the Reddies at the Hardscrabble Invite with rounds of 16-over 86 and 19-over 89, respectively.
No. 13 Henderson State will play one more regular season tournament before the GAC Championships when HSU heads to Springfield, Mo., for the Women's Spring Regional hosted by Arkansas Tech Apr. 8-9.
