BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - No. 13 Henderson State extended its lead at the 2024 GAC Championships to 14 strokes, sitting at 29-over 605 through 36 holes.
The Reddies posted the second-best second round of any five-some in the 10-team field with a23-over 311. Arkansas Tech is currently in second at 43-over 619, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State (+46) and Harding (+48).
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk is currently tied for first after carding a 4-over 76 during round two for a 4-over 148 with 18 holes left to play. Boonbumroongsuk carded a birdie on the Par 5 18th to finish the second round tied for the lead.
Allie Bianchi sits tied for third with two other golfers at 7-over 151 after a second-round 8-over 80. Bianchi used birdies on two of her final three holes to remain in the Top-5 of the GAC Championships.
Felisa Sajulga saw the most vertical movement of any Reddie, carding a team-best second round score of 3-over 75 to sit alone at seventh place with a 36-hole score of 9-over 153. Sajulga recorded a team-high 12 pars during the second 18-hole stint.
Lily Nelson and
Daphney Tilton are tied for 11th and 14th at 12-over 156 and 13-over 157, respectively. Tilton fills out the five Reddies who are all in the Top-15 of the 51-player field.
18 holes separate No. 13 Henderson State and its fourth consecutive GAC Title as the third round from the Par 72, 6005-yard Forest Ridge will begin Tuesday, Apr. 23 at 8 a.m. CT.
