No. 13 Women's Golf Wins Fourth Straight GAC Title

FINAL TEAM LEADERBOARD | FINAL PLAYER LEADERBOARD

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Despite the Great American Conference women's golf championships not being held in Hot Springs, Ark. for the first in the conference's history, the No. 13 Henderson State women's golf program remained atop the GAC with a 54-hole score of 52-over 916 to win the 2024 GAC Title for the fourth straight year.

Allie Bianchi backed up her GAC Player of the Year selection, becoming just the fifth conference Player of the Year to ever win the conference's individual crown. This is third consecutive year that a different HSU female golfer has won the GAC individual title.

The Reddies came into the final round with a 14-stroke lead and extended that to a 16-stroke triumph as Harding finished as the Runner-Up at 68-over 932.

The Lady Bisons cut the red-and-gray's lead to eight at one point in round three, but Henderson as a team shot 6-under through the final three holes to claim the double-digit victory.

Bianchi's first-ever GAC individual title required some late-round heroics. After sitting 13-over through the championship's 49 holes, the Player of the Year finished her final five holes 3-under for a championship score of 10-over 226.

Heading into the final hole, there was a four-way tie for first before Bianchi sunk a 15-foot putt for her first eagle of the championships on the Par 5, 445-yard 18th hole to claim the title with a third-round 3-over 75.

BIANCHI GAC CHAMP 2024

Jinna Boonbumroongsuk and Lily Nelson both placed Top-10 to back up Bianchi. Boonbumroongsuk finished her second GAC Championships with a three-round score of 14-over 230 to finish by herself at seventh.

Nelson finished one stroke behind Boonbumroongsuk with a 15-over 231. Nelson matched Bianchi with the best final round of any Reddie with a 3-over 75 after carding a team-high 14 pars in the final 18 holes of the three-day event.

Daphney Tilton finished tied for 13th with a 20-over 236 while Felisa Sajulga, in her inaugural GAC Championships, joined Tilton at 13th to round out the red-and-gray.

No. 13 Henderson State will now move the NCAA Central Regional Championships where HSU is the No. 1 overall seed. The Reddies will go for their third straight Region Title when they return to the Sooner State in Bartlesville, Okla. May 6-8.
