ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State Athletics has announced that head softball coach David Martinez has resigned to pursue other professional opportunities with his family.

Martinez, who has been on the coaching staff with Reddie Softball since 2018, has served as the head coach since the summer of 2020. He led Henderson to the Great American Conference Tournament this spring.

"I want to thank David Martinez for his time and effort that he dedicated to Reddie Softball during his six years in Arkadelphia," Athletics Director Seth Dutton said. "We wish him, Kelci and DJ nothing but the best as they begin their next chapter. Our program at Henderson State has everything it needs to be successful and will be an extremely attractive opportunity as we begin the search for our next head coach. The future is bright for Reddie Softball."

A national search for the next head softball coach at Henderson State will begin immediately.
