No. 11 HSU Women Move Up to Seventh After Round Two

DAY TWO TEAM LEADERBOARD | DAY TWO PLAYER LEADERBOARD

ORLANDO, Fla. - Allie Bianchi and Jinna Boonbumroongsuk both finished below par during the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championships as No. 11 Henderson State improved to seventh place with a 2-over 290 on day two.

Following 36 holes of action, HSU at 9-over 585 is six strokes clear of ninth-place No. 6 Nova Southeastern and No. 10 St. Mary's. Leading the field is No. 2 Flagler College at 6-under 570 and No. 4 West Texas A&M at 5-under 571.

Henderson made its push up the leaderboard between holes four and 11, when the four contributing scorers recorded six birdies and just two bogeys over that stretch.

As previously mentioned, Bianchi led the rise on the team leaderboard with a 2-under 70, including being bogey-less through 15 holes. The Allen, Texas, native shot up the individual leaderboard 43 spots to sit in a tie for 38th at 4-over 148.

Boonbumroongsuk joined Bianchi with the sub-par round with 15 pars, two birdies and just one bogey. After starting out play bogeying the Par 4 1st, the second-year Reddie played her final 17 holes 2-under par to sit tied for 31st.

Lily Nelson leads the Reddies at 15th among the 98-player field after carding a second-round 2-over 74. Similar to Boonbumroongsuk, after kicking off her round with a double-bogey on the first hole, Nelson played her final 17 holes even-par. The true sophomore, who is even-par 144 after the two days, is six strokes back of the individual leader.

Daphney Tilton bookended her day with birdies, gaining a stroke on the Par 4 1st and then on the Par 5 18th, to be matched with Bianchi at 38th. Felisa Sajulga completed day two for Henderson with a 7-over 79 for a spot at 80th.

No. 11 Henderson State will play one more round of stroke play Thursday, May 22 before the Top-8 teams will advance to Medal Match Play. The race for the Top-8 begins with Sajulga at 9:30 a.m. CT, followed by Tilton, Bianchi, Boonbumroongsuk and Nelson in 10 minute increments.
