WGCA DII ALL-AMERICA TEAM - SECOND TEAM AND HONORABLE MENTIONS

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - After Allie Bianchi was named a First Team All-America recipient following the final round of stroke play at the NCAA Division II National Championships, Lily Nelson was tabbed as a Second Team All-America honoree, the Women's Golf Coaches Association announced Friday.

This is Bianchi's second consecutive year to be named an All-American while debuting on the First Team, landing on the Honorable Mention list last year. This is Nelson's first time to be recognized as an All-American.

Bianchi earned her All-America status after boasting a No. 1 Central Region ranking heading into the National Championships. The 2024 GAC Player of the Year and now two-time All-American posted eight Top-5 finishes this season, including winning the GAC Championships individual title.

Nelson, a true sophomore from Commerce City, Colo., played in Henderson's final five events of the year after missing the beginning of the season due to injury. Despite just 14 rounds of competitive golf, the 2023 GAC Freshman of the Year picked up where she left off, finishing no worse than eighth in those five tournaments.

Capping off her short yet strong sophomore season was a tied-for-seventh finish at the National Championships with a 54-hole score of 3-under 213 during stroke play. The Top-10 placement in the 98-player field earned her National All-Tournament honors and her eventual spot on the All-America Second Team.

Bianchi and Nelson completed their senior and sophomore seasons, respectively, as No. 11 Henderson State captured a sixth-place finish at the National Championships, qualifying for the National Quarterfinals for the second year in a row.
