BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - No. 13/15 Henderson State remained in second place at the 2024 Central Regional Championships with a second-round score of 15-over 303.
Following 36 holes, Southwestern Oklahoma State remains in first at 22-over 598 while HSU sits four shots back at 26-over 602. Tournament-host Rogers State is in third at 35-over 611 while No. 12 Central Missouri moved up from eighth to fourth as the Jennies enter the final round eight shots shy of RSU.
Felisa Sajulga carded the best second round for Henderson with a 2-over 74, thanks to a 1-under back nine that featured three birdies, which tied
Lily Nelson for the most birdies in the round.Â
Sajulga, who has a team-high six birdies across the two days, saw the most vertical movement on the leaderboard, climbing six spots for a spot at sixth with a 36-hole score of 6-over 150.Â
Allie Bianchi continues to lead the team with a two-round 5-over 149 score. Currently alone in fifth place after climbing three spots on the leaderboard, Bianchi is six strokes back of the individual leader.
Lily Nelson is tied for 11th at 8-over 152 with back-to-back 4-over 76 rounds. Nelson matched Sajulga with a team-high three birdies on the day, two of which came on the final five holes to keep her at 8-over.
Jinna Boonbumroongsuk and
Daphney Tilton round out the Reddies with an 11-over 155 and 12-over 156 for 19th and 21st place, respectively. Tilton paces the five-bag with 26 pars across the two rounds.
Wednesday, May 8 will hold the final round of the 2024 Central Region Championships before a Region Champion will be crowned. Tilton will begin the round for No. 13/15 HSU with a 10:50 a.m. tee time, followed by Boonbumroongsuk, Nelson, Sajulga and Bianchi in 10 minute increments.
