Reddie Women’s Golf Picked as Conference Favorite in 2024 GAC Preseason Poll

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.  -  Henderson State's women's golf team earned the top spot in the GAC Preseason Poll released this week.

The Reddies are expected to repeat as conference champions after claiming their fourth consecutive GAC title earlier this year. HSU received five of the 10 first-place votes casted and 75 total votes.

Southwestern Oklahoma State checked in at No. 2 with three first-place votes and 75 votes overall. No. 3 Harding followed close behind with two-place votes and 69 total votes. Arkansas Tech claimed fourth with 57 votes, while Oklahoma Baptist rounded out the top five with 49 votes.

Matt Ward takes over as the director of golf for Henderson's men's and women's teams heading into the 2024-25. Ward leads a squad looking to build on three straight NCAA Division II Central Region Championship titles. Senior Felisa Sajulga and junior Lily Nelson will serve as veteran guides to promising newcomers.

In what can also be seen as a preview of the spring's GAC Championships, HSU opens its season with a Central Region Fall Preview against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday, September 3, at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri.
