RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Henderson State Women's Golf has its first two weekly award winners of the year after senior Felisa Sajulga and junior Lily Nelson were both named recipients of GAC Golfer of the Week Awards on Wednesday.
Sajulga, a native of College Station, Texas, earned GAC Golfer of the Week honors for her individual tournament win at the Central Region Fall Preview during the first week of the season. The senior posted an overall score of par 144 at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri, to claim the first individual victory of her collegiate career.
Nelson took home the second GAC Golfer of the Week Award by going three-under 139 across two days at the NSU Women's Golf Classic in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Originally from Commerce City, Colorado, Nelson hit six-under 65 in the final round of the event: a score that broke the Muskogee Country Club women's record by three strokes. The junior finished the tournament one stroke short of first place in the individual standings.
Sajulga, Nelson, and their teammates return to action on Monday, September 16, at the DBU Classic in Denton, Texas.
