HSU Looking for Fourth Win in Five Games on Thursday

WBB GAMES NOTES VS. SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE: JANUARY 8, 2025

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  -  Fresh off of winning three of their last four games, Henderson State returns to the Duke Wells Center for their first home game of the 2025 calendar year. Tip-off against Southwestern Oklahoma State is scheduled for Thursday, January 9, at 1 p.m.

REDDIES REPORT
After winning three of their last four contests, the Reddies return to the Duke Wells Center for their first home game of 2025. Henderson State has won five straight matchups against the Bulldogs, including a 71-55 victory in the 2024 GAC Tournament Championship.

Brynlee Huggins scored a career-high 27 points in last Saturday's win at Arkansas-Monticello. It was her second consecutive game with 20 or more points and her fourth such outing for the season. The junior guard made five three-pointers, bringing her GAC-leading total to 37 (nine more than any other player in the league). Huggins also led the Reddies with four steals at UAM.

Bobbi Bazzle collected 11 rebounds against the Blossoms, marking the third time that she has reached double-digit boards in 2024-25. Originally from the Woodlands, Texas, the senior is currently third in the GAC with 3.3 offensive boards per game and sixth in the conference with 7.2 total rebounds per game.

Sam Basson set a new career best with seven assists at UAM. She currently tops the team with 2.6 assists per game.

Klowie Pike posted 11 points on Saturday: her most since joining the Reddies and NCAA Division II. She has recorded back-to-back games with double-digit scoring totals.

SCOUTING SWOSU
Southwestern Oklahoma State seeks its first win over HSU since March 5, 2022: an 89-73 victory in the 2022 GAC Tournament Semifinals. The Bulldogs last won at the Duke Wells Center on February 10, 2022.

Averi Zinn (12 points) and Layni Zinn (11 points) both reached double digits in Saturday's 62-48 loss at Southeastern Oklahoma State.

In addition to leading her team in scoring (11.6 points per game), Averi Zinn is tied for fourth in the GAC with 2.1 steals per game. She is also eighth in the league with 3.2 assists per game.

Shooting at a .457 clip from beyond the arc, Layni Zinn has the GAC's fourth-highest three-point percentage.
