ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Reddies began the 2025-26 season with a thrilling 85-81 victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana. They host Mississippi College tomorrow night as part of a double-header with Men's Basketball. The Women's team tip off at 5:30 PM in the Duke Wells Center, and the Men follow at 7:30 PM.

Natalie Cardenas led the team in scoring last week, as she scored 25 points, shooting 42.9 percent from the field, and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc. She also recorded 10 rebounds on the night for her first double-double of the 2025-26 season. 

Freshman Macy Willis was a standout for Henderson in her first collegiate start, as the Valley Springs native scored 22 points. She shot 50.0 percent from the field, and 66.7 percent from the three-point line. Veteran Brynlee Huggins and freshman Kadee Keaster each scored 12 points on the night.

Henderson State and Mississippi College will take to the court for the third time in the history of these two programs. The series is tied 1-1, with Henderson State winning the last meeting in 2024, 53-50 in Clinton, Mississippi.

The Choctaws enter the 2025-26 season picked seventh in the Gulf South Conference Preseason poll and have gone 1-1 in the opening week of their regular season, defeating Clark Atlanta 74-72 and losing to Spring Hill (Ala.) 67-59.

Mississippi College is led this season by Valencia McFall, who is averaging 19.5 points per game on the season, shooting 60.0 percent from the field, and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. Nia Coleman ranks second on the team, averaging 12.5 points per game on 66.7 percent shooting. Ava Craddock leads the Choctaws in rebounds, collecting eight on the season so far.

Defensively, Mississippi College has forced 20 turnovers, with three players all holding four steals on the season. The Choctaws have only turned the ball over twelve times. Turnovers have been an issue for the Reddies, as they have turned the ball over 15 times this season.
