Reddies Aim for Redemption in Battle of the Ravine: Part II on Thursday

WBB GAME NOTES AT OUACHITA BAPTIST: FEBRUARY 13, 2025

ARKADELPHIA, Ark.  -  Henderson State will look to even the score in its season series against Ouachita Baptist when the Reddies make the trip across U.S. Highway 67 for Battle of the Ravine: Part II at Bill Vining Arena on Thursday, February 13. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

REDDIES REPORT
Henderson State looks to return from the other side of the street with a win for a second straight year. The last time the Reddies faced Ouachita Baptist at Bill Vining Arena on January 25, 2024, HSU won a 94-92 thriller in double overtime. Sam Basson banked in a game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer to force a second overtime period.

Natalie Cardenas extended her active double-digit scoring streak to a team-best five games when she scored 14 points at SWOSU.

Klowie Pike led Henderson with 14 points in the Reddies' last showdown with the Tigers. Freshmen and sophomores accounted for 17 of HSU's 20 fourth-quarter points in this season's first Battle of the Ravine contest.

Brynlee Huggins continues to sit atop the conference leaderboard with 59 made threes in 2024-25. Her scoring average of 14.9 points per game is also top five in the league.

The Reddies continue to serve as one of only two teams in the GAC with two players averaging six or more rebounds per game this season (Makenna Winans at 7.1 and Bobbi Bazzle at 6.3).

Since the start of conference play, Henderson State ranks fourth in the GAC with 37 team rebounds per game and fifth with 65.4 points scored per game. The Reddies also boast the conference's second-best team three-point percentage at 34.9 percent during that span.

SCOUTING OUACHITA BAPTIST
Ouachita Baptist will be on the hunt for its first season sweep of Battle of the Ravine since 2011-12: the first season of the Great American Conference. The Tigers had four different players reach double figures in their first meeting with the Reddies this season.

Abbey Harrison shot six-of-seven from the floor and had a team-leading 19 points against HSU on January 23. She is averaging 11.3 points per game against the Reddies in the last two seasons.

Madeleine Tipton is currently at No. 7 on the GAC leaderboard with 14.2 points per game in 2024-25.

Heidi Robinson's 44 percent shooting from three is the highest of any GAC player with at least 50 attempts this season.
